Icelandic Greens

Seemingly endless expanses of moss under perpetually grey skies, often interrupted by outcrops of black basalt, occasionally by cushions of leafy dwarf plants. Drizzle and wind. A young landscape of straight streams and creeping soil, with no evidence of glaciation - mostly younger than ten thousand years. These are the highlands of southern Iceland.
